DT entries
Good morning everybody. Wow! Over a month since i've updated this blog....do i ever stink at this lol!
These are the two LO's i've recently finished for our LSS design team. They gave me lots of echo park playground fun.
One of our boys recently lost a bunch of teeth. I always get a kick out of his little toothless smile. It was begging to be scrapped :)
And amidst all the rain and cold damp weather we did have at least one warm sunny day. The boys seized the opportunity to sport their superhero get-ups and keep our yard safe. I really like this LO. All in all i really enjoyed working with this line. Very colorful and versatile :)
Hope everyone had a great april and is enjoying their spring. Hopefully my next entry won't be waiting until July ;)

New Cards
I've been a little busy it seems this month trying to play catch with...well...everything :) I've had a few custom cards to do for people as well. Here are the ones i've finished so far.
I made this one for a friend of mine who's a realtor. She wanted some cards for clients. I hope she's happy with it. It's a case of a card i seen online. I'm sorry but i can't remember who the original artist is. I just fell in love with her card and forgot to write down her name. If you know who it might be please let me know so i can give due credit :)
These two silhouettes were cut from the "a childs year" cartridge. I'm starting to love that cartridge more and more.
Most of the paper i used today was from my scrap drawer, so sorry there hasn't been much detailed info if that's what you came looking for lol. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend though and thanks so much for stopping by :)

March Break...yay :)
Hi everybody,
It's a beautiful afternoon and the kids are outside playing with the dog. Perfect time to post the ONE card i've made over the past couple weeks...eek.
Anyway, here it is. It's also my entry for this weeks mojo monday sketch 182.
See ya soon.
Cass.

The base pp is from creative imaginations that I had in my stash. I ran it through my cuttlebug using the floral fantasy folder. I inked it with broken china, chipped sapphire and walnut stain is certain places. The top panel was done the same way but i used shabby shutters, crushed olive and again walnut stain to age it a little bit.
The cut piece under my sentiment is from the winter lace cricut cartridge. I rubbed some platnium stickles on top of it ( accidently while it was sitting on my sentiment but i like the outcome lol ) to give it a bit of shine.
Thanks for checking it out...hope everyone has a great week. Hopefully i'll get a chance to make a couple things in the next couple days but time will tell.See ya soon.

Where's spring?
Ok...it's cold here. Isn't it time for spring yet? That being said, spring defenitly became my inspiration for todays card.
I started by making my base card with kraft cardstock. Used the pyrus line from Basic grey onece again and matted it with white. I used my nestabilites circles for both circles. For the large I sponged shabby shutters, peeled paint for the grass left a little space and then used faded jeans and stormy sky. I took some bleach on my brush and made a little cloud in the sky then took my liquid pearls for a melty snow look. ( i can hope right? )
The little birds and the sentiment were stamps i found in the $ bin at michaels. The nest i just affixed some raffia to some cardstock with sticky strip and touched it up with some walnut stain.
Anyway, that's it for today. Thanks for stopping by.
Have a great day :)

I pulled out my "stretch your imagination" cricut cartridge and cut my tree then used a Martha stewart punch for the little blossoms. The pink in the middle is a soft pink liquid pearls.

Latest cards.
So as I promised here's another card I made from the pyrus line. In all honesty this isn't my favorite card. I found the whole time i was trying to finish it new ideas kept popping into my head making it incredibly hard to stay on track and stay focused lol. Ever have that problem?
Here's a close-up of the sentiment. I used my nesties for the different circles. The color doesn't seem to show up as well as i'd hoped. It's a dark teal sorta color.

And here's a close-up of my handmade roses. I must say...that's the only part i like lol. The flowers and the little butterfly are my favorite :)
And I decided to stroll outside my comfort zone a wee bit too today. I tried to make something a little more masculine. My Dad has been dealing with some pretty heavy stuff lately so I'll probably send this one to him. The stamp set is from flourishes. It's called a guiding light. I colored it with distress inks and used my brush with some bleach to do the white tones. If anyone has any tips on the lighthouse beam i'd love to hear them.
And then there's this one. Not really sure how I feel about it just yet. I played around with my prismacolor markers with this one. I love em...so much fun :)
The center flower is the only part popped off the card. The flower stamp I used is from a company called "Outlines" and the paper again is basic greys pyrus.
Thanks for stopping by. I may post another today depending on how ambitious i'm feeling.

Made the DT at our LSS
This is the first month I get to play with the kit from my LSS for the design team. I was fortunate enough to get to work with Basic Grey's new Pyrus line. To be honest when I first seen it all that really came to mind was a resounding "meh" but now that i've worked with it...i'm a fan :)
I only managed to get one card done out of the five I have to do...but here are some pics. I'll be posting some more cards over the next few days.

Stylish Blogger Award
Hi everybody :)
I was awarded the Stylish Blogger Award from a sweet lady, Maria! Thank you so much :) How exciting...my first one :) In order to accept this award, I needed to list eight things all of you do not know about me. Also, I needed to pass this award onto eight people. Thanks again Maria...i'm touched :)
1. I would love to learn to knit. I've tried many, many...many times....so if there's someone out there with boat loads of patience looking for a challenge...i'm your girl lol.

3.I'm an only child.
4. I love doing laundry. Seriously. Something about the smell of a fresh load of laundry makes me happy :)
5. I've never really liked chocolate.
6. I need coffee first thing in the morning in order to be a pleasant person.

Tea party fun :)
Good morning everybody.
I was given the glorious task of coming up with an idea for a tea party invite for 18 little girls. Seeing as i have two little boys...getting the chance to do girly things is just heavenly ;)
Here's the cards i came up with. I figured i'd let them choose which they prefer. A little variety never hurts right?

For all cards I used the "A childs year" cartridge with basic grey "Green at heart" patterned paper.
Which one would you pick?
Thanks for checking out my lastest...hope you all have a fab week :)

Had a playdate at the cafe ;)
So the playdate cafe had another fab challenge. PDCC67.
Wow and what a chanllenge it was! I never and i mean NEVER use these colors together. Not sure why...i think they look quite lovely :) Again with the foil i know, i know you guys are probably getting sick of seeing it, but i'm hooked.
I started with some patterned paper from the Que sera collection from K&Company then sanded the edges and mounted it on a piece of purple cardstock. The raised piece I cute a border piece with my cricut machine using the storybook cartridge and used it as a mask. I sponged spun sugar distress ink with some purple pigment inks then aged it with a bit of vintage photo. I recently bought this stamp set from walmart for $1 and it's from autumn leaves. So i embossed that then used bleach in certain spots to lighten it. I alose bleached around the edges with my brush just to make it stand out from the matting a little more. The hearts are all cut using the george cartridge and the silver ones i ran through my cuttlebug. Finished with some red ribbon and I think i managed to encompass all the colors :)
Thanks for checkin it out. Have a fab day guys!

I'm now on Etsy :)
Hi everybody :)
Wow....i've been so busy and I was shocked to see my last post was in October...that's just awful lol.
I have started a page on Etsy where I have my cards available for sale.
Here's the link: http://www.etsy.com/shop/CassieN?ref=pr_shop
I also have been doing some custom orders. That, combined with kids being sick and all the wonderful other things that come along with this time of year...time is flying by :)
Here are a few of my latest creations. As always i'd love to hear your feedback.
I so rarely seem to get the chance to scrapbook. I was thrilled with how this page turned out. In person it's very sparkly. The snow flakes along the border strip are embossed with irrdescent powders and highlighted with stickles. ( gotta love glitter in any shape or form.) Maybe that's why i enjoy winter LO's. I can use glitter with pics of my boys and it doesn't seem wierd :) The punched snowflakes are a combination of punches and dies i've collected along the way. I think the larger is Martha stewart and the smaller are all cuttlebug dies. My favorite part on the whole LO is the snow on the title. I was sooooo happy how it came out :) I seen someone else do it...can't remember who so I won't take credit for the idea...but i used my liquid pearls and gooped it on there and voila...looks just like snow.
I was really happy with this card. I did a custom version of it for a friend using dark purple. I looked so elegant. For some reason I can't seem to get it to load on to this page so here's a link if you're curious :)
A friend of mine also had a baby girl this month. This card was a lot of fun to make. I have a wierd thing for buttons. Just seems to go with babies :) The patterned paper is from the Que sera collection (love) and the stork is a digital stamp which i just colored in with my blender pen.
And last but not least I don't think you can ever really have too many thank you cards. So here's one I made just using scraps from my stash. I used my cuttlebug Olivia die to cut the "thanks" and my spellbinders die for the label.

http://www.scrapbook.com/galleries/187183/view/3087451/-1/1.html It's a link to SB.com with my gallery as well. The patterned paper is Basic Grey from the Capella collection. A beautiful collection a papers btw. I made the little rosettes by hand and cut the foil with my cuttlebug corner die. The foil was a gift from my MIL. I'm liking and using it much more than i thought i would originally.

We're expecting a big storm here tonight so it's prime opportunity to get some more stuff done :) Hope everyone has a wonderful week and thanks for visiting.
Hugs,

Anniversaries galore!!!
Wow...October is a busy month for anniversaries. Do people know there's 11 other months to choose from? lol I had roughly 10 anni. cards to make this month, and all anniversary. That's not including all the other ones i have to get done lol. I'll post two for now. These ones posted today are ones I made multiples of. They're going to different provinces, countries...soo....the people will never know ;)
Both cards are easel cards made using the medallion stamp from SU!. I embossed with fine white embossing powder and then used my distress inks. ( I'm a sucker for resist ) Flowers are homemade.
Any questions feel free to ask :)
Have a great day!
Cass.
